Shardaya Fuquay
Shardaya Fuquay is a results-driven community Educator with 10 years of experience developing and teaching innovative programs that serve diverse populations. Shardaya Fuquay is a certified educator and holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education Cognitive Impairment and Learning Disabilities. Shardaya is a Detroit native and has a true passion for helping others; her diverse career has spanned everything from special education and curriculum development to trauma-informed care through her non-profit Journey to Healing. Shardaya is a Certified Clinical Trauma Practitioner that has extensive experience working with schools to increase equity through universal design for learning and trauma-informed care.
Mrs. Fuquay is deeply committed to improving the lives of youth and adults who experience trauma due to grief or loss. She is dedicated to providing high impact quality mental services that are free for community residents afflicted with trauma. Most recently, Shardaya was charged with supporting her community during the COVID-19 Crisis. With support from funders, Board Members and Volunteers from Journey To Healing, her nonprofit provided 70 youth with art therapy kits with pro-bono virtual group therapy for 4-weeks. As well bridged the educational divide by providing school supplies for 180 youth in grades K- 12.

She empowers our community through intentional programming that promotes healing justice and loves collaborating with other organizations to increase the impact on the community with disabilities and families who experience trauma.
