Grief Support for the
Entire Family

The goal of the emotional healing program is to establish a psychologically safe environment to explore the various things that may impact the process of coping and healing. We strive to aid in healing using artistic expression and providing psycho-education that can be taught to the entire family to promote healthier coping and empower families to advocate for themselves in the various areas that may have been impacted by their experience of loss or traumatic events.

Grief Support meetings are held on the last Wednesday of each month from 6:00pm to 7:30pm; and are facilitated by trained therapists to ensure the best quality care for participants.

We support our families at any stage in the grief process. We recognize through our own experiences that grief is difficult and it is something that you can not do alone. Although loss is an inevitable part of life; the experience of a significant loss such as death, divorce, or separation from a primary caregiver challenges us all, especially children. In the aftermath of loss, children need the support of caring adults to help them make sense of their loss, to support them in their grief, and to encourage their use of healthy and adaptive coping strategies.

Our support group accomplishes this work through a variety of efforts, including:

  • Offering consultation appointments to caregivers searching for the best ways to support their grieving children.

  • Providing grief therapy through our holistic method of art, music, and drama therapy.

  • Facilitating Family Nights, Field trips, and Summer Camps where bereaved families can gather with other families that have experienced a loss.

  • Providing grief-sensitive training and consultation to community agencies

  • Connecting individuals to grief resources.

  • Providing Holiday Help and burial support
