Brittney L. Record
Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Brittney has a Bachelors of Science in Mass Communications and is currently pursuing her Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health which will be completed in February of 2023. She will use this degree to help understand the mental conditions that community residents are experiencing and help them through the healing process to become more productive members of society. Growing up she encountered many different walks of life, where she discovered early that she had a passion to help people, leading her in 2015 to start a nonprofit with her husband called S.E.E.D. Now, which is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit that is devoted to creating sustainable living within communities.
Brittney started her mental health journey through her own life experiences. Tired of carrying her traumas and ready to make a change she began not only individual counseling but couples counseling with her husband, which has helped them both become more self aware, better communicators, more centered and conscious of their behaviors. They also put their children in therapy as a preventative measure to ensure that they always have an outlet when needed, overcoming the stigma that people go to therapy at their worst. They believe that being in therapy helps one to become their best. With that being said Brittney felt a calling to be able to help others who may be dealing with the same traumas so she took her own healing and has now decided to help others in their journey.
